I Back to Nature Gently, Just Like the Love You Always Gave Me
A Message from Your Beloved Pet About My Final Journey Back to Nature
Throughout my life, you always treated me gently.
When I was small, your hands held me carefully.
When I was afraid, you kept me close.
When I was sick, you cared for me.
And when my body began to grow old, you never forced me to be who I used to be.
You simply slowed down and walked beside me.
Until eventually...
the day came when my body could no longer continue the journey.
I know you cried.
I know letting me go was one of the hardest things you ever had to do.
But if I could speak to you now, I would want you to know:
I returned to nature gently, just like the love you always gave me.
From the Beginning, You Taught Me What It Felt Like to Be Loved
I may not have understood every word you said.
But I always understood the way you loved me.
I knew it from the sound of your footsteps when you came home.
From the way you filled my food bowl.
From the way you made sure I was warm enough when I slept.
From those trips to the veterinarian that may have frightened me, but you stayed beside me anyway.
And from thousands of little touches you probably don't even remember anymore.
To you, they may have felt like ordinary routines.
To me...
they were my entire life.
When My Body Slowed Down, You Slowed Down With Me
There was a time when I could run far ahead of you.
I could play without seeming to get tired.
I could jump onto my favorite spot without needing help.
Then my body began to change.
I walked more slowly.
It took me longer to stand.
I slept more.
And one day, even my favorite food may not have excited me anymore.
You noticed all of it.
But you didn't leave me behind.
When I walked more slowly...
you slowed down too.
When I needed help...
your hands were there.
And when all I wanted was to rest...
you let me rest.
That is the love I remember most.
I Know You Wanted to Keep Me a Little Longer
I know.
If love alone could make a body last forever...
maybe I would never have had to leave.
You probably wished for one more morning.
One more walk.
One more meal.
One more photograph.
One more night with me sleeping nearby.
But bodies have limits that even love cannot always overcome.
And when my time came...
you had to do something incredibly difficult.
You had to let me go.
Letting Me Go Didn't Mean You Stopped Loving Me
I know the words letting go can sound like losing everything.
As if allowing my body to leave meant our entire relationship had to end too.
But that's not what happened.
My body completed its journey.
Everything we shared did not disappear with it.
You still have my photographs.
My stories.
The routines that became part of your life after years of caring for me.
And a part of you that changed because you once loved me.
So when you let my body go...
you were never letting go of our love.
Then You Had to Decide How I Would Return to Nature
After a beloved pet passes away, families often have to make aftercare decisions while they are still overwhelmed by grief.
Burial?
Traditional flame cremation?
Or another form of pet aftercare?
For pet parents in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and the wider Greater Jakarta area, one option becoming better known is Pet Aquamation, sometimes referred to as water-based bio-cremation.
Pet Aquamation uses a combination of water, an alkaline solution, controlled temperature, and circulation to accelerate the body's natural decomposition process.
Unlike conventional flame cremation, it does not rely on direct combustion.
For some families, these characteristics make aquamation feel more aligned with their wish to provide a gentle and respectful final journey for their beloved companion.
Pet Aquamation: Returning to Nature Through Water
Water was always part of my life.
I drank it.
Played in it.
You bathed me with it.
And through aquamation, water can also become part of my aftercare journey once I'm gone.
During Pet Aquamation, the body is placed inside a specialized system. Water, alkali, controlled temperature, and circulation are used to help break down organic tissue and accelerate the natural decomposition process.
Once the process is complete, bone minerals remain.
Those minerals are then dried and processed into fine remains.
With private or individual aquamation, the remains can be returned to the family according to the service provider's procedures.
And Then, Part of Me Can Come Home to You
My return to nature doesn't necessarily mean losing every physical reminder of me.
You may choose to have my remains returned to you.
Then you can:
Keep them in a memorial urn
Create a paw print or meaningful keepsake
Create a memorial corner at home
Preserve photographs and some of my favorite belongings
Choose another form of remembrance that feels meaningful to your family
There is no rule saying a memorial has to be large.
There is no rule saying it has to be expensive.
Because the truth is...
our greatest memories never needed much space.
I Didn't Only Return to Nature—I Still Remain With You
Maybe that sounds contradictory.
How can I return to nature and still remain with you?
Because my body and our memories don't follow the same journey.
My body returns to the natural cycle.
But our story remains.
In photographs.
Inside our home.
In your routines.
In the memories of everyone who knew me.
And most importantly...
inside you.
Don't Be Afraid When Your Grief Begins to Change
At first, everything about me may make you cry.
My bed.
My food bowl.
My photographs.
Even the sound of another pet that reminds you a little of me.
But slowly...
grief can change.
One day, you may look at my photograph and smile.
Then you'll tell someone a story about me and laugh.
Please don't feel guilty.
You're not leaving me behind.
You're simply learning how to carry our memories in a way that doesn't hurt quite as much anymore.
And If One Day You Give That Love to Another Pet...
I hope you do it without guilt.
Another pet will never replace me.
No one can.
Because every love has its own story.
But if our life together taught you how to care for, understand, and love an animal more deeply...
then please give that love again.
Maybe one day another pet will need the kind of home you once gave me.
And I think...
that would be a beautiful way for the love we shared to continue.
I Returned Carrying the Warmth You Gave Me
So when you imagine my final journey...
don't think only about loss.
Remember the entire life that came before it.
Your hands holding me.
The home you gave me.
The meals you prepared.
The adventures we shared.
The days when I was healthy.
And the days when I was no longer strong, but you still stayed beside me.
My body's journey has come to an end.
And now...
I return to nature.
Not as the end of our love.
But as part of the cycle of life that continues moving forward.
I returned to nature gently, just like the love you always gave me.
And if something remains after everything else...
it is our love.
